Valley Transit
provides public transportation in the greater Lewiston, Clarkston and Asotin
area. Valley Transit’s “Dial-a-Ride” system combines the services of a bus and
a taxi: riders call in advance to schedule rides and are picked up at the curb
of their home and taken to the curb of their destination. Door-to-Door service
is available upon request. Riders are scheduled in groups wherever possible to
efficiently provide as many rides as possible to the community. A small fixed
route system also operates; please consult the office (743-2545) for
information.
Retired Seniors Volunteer Program Shuttle Services (RSVP):
Limited,
local transportation is offered on a scheduled, and/or available-on-request
basis. Many vehicles are lift-equipped. Transportation is provided for such
services and/or activities as medical appointments, meal programs, senior center
activities, and shopping. Arrangements can be made for door-to-door service from
the senior’s home.
RSVP
Provides shuttle services using their own cars for area transportation needs.
The volunteers are recruited, registered, trained, monitored, insured, and
reimbursed for mileage by Interlink and RSVP. For more information
